Sweet Old World

To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the release of her 1992 album "Sweet Old World," Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Lucinda Williams has released a full-length reconsideration of the original work, titled "This Sweet Old World." This rare instance of an artist revisiting and re-recording an earlier album features all-new renditions of the 12 songs from the 1992 set, some of which have been dramatically rearranged and rewritten.

Produced by Williams and Tom Overby, "This Sweet Old World" was recorded by Williams and her touring and studio band, comprising guitarist Stuart Mathis, bassist David Sutton, and drummer Butch Norton. Longtime collaborator Greg Leisz, who participated in the early sessions for the 1992 album and co-produced Williams' most recent studio releases, "The Ghosts of Highway 20" (2016) and "Down Where the Spirit Meets the Bone" (2014), contributes spectacular guitar work to the new recordings.

The package is further enhanced by the inclusion of four newly recorded bonus tracks that harken back to Williams' early performing career, providing listeners with a more comprehensive exploration of her artistic evolution.

The original "Sweet Old World," released by Chameleon/Elektra, has been reinterpreted and reimagined in this latest iteration, offering a fresh perspective on the acclaimed songwriter's work.
